Here’s a story from our friends at Kiss the Ground about regenerative southwest wheat farmer Yadi Wang at Oatman Flats Ranch, home of Regenerate AZ 2023. He is working on a seemingly impossible mission to transform a degraded oat farm into the first large-scale, regenerative farm in one of the hottest and driest climates in the country, Arizona.

“Through my journey, I strive to set a positive example for my children and inspire others to make a difference in their communities. By embracing regenerative practices, we can create a better place for future generations.” - Yadi Wang, Regenerative Farmer and Oatman Flats Ranch General Manager

DETAILS ABOUT THE SERIES: The Kiss the Ground mini-docuseries, Stories of Regeneration, highlights the compelling stories of influential farmers in the regenerative movement and the obstacles they face. Join us as we follow the inspirational journey of Yadi Wang and discover the true potential of regenerative agriculture.

microBIOMETER®'s Laura Decker was recently a guest on Matt Powers' A Regenerative Future podcast.

Laura shared background on the development of microBIOMETER® as well as talked about how the test works. She also touched on future phases and test updates in the pipeline. Other topics discussed include carbon sequestration, microscopy and regional soil databases.

"I really love how clean, how clear the microBIOMETER® test is. What you guys bring to the table simplifies the work for microscopists. We need tests that are reliable, that can synergize with other tests and give us the ability to look around a corner we couldn't look around before." - Matt Powers

Carbon Sponge: In Light of the Microbial Stewardship

The short film Carbon Sponge: In Light of the Microbial Stewardship is a collaboration between Brooke Singer of Carbon Sponge and Dallas McCann of White Weather Farm. This film provides a glimpse into the important research they are doing to gain a better understanding of the role soil microbes play in carbon sequestration. microBIOMETER® is honored to be featured in this film as one of the testing tools used in their study.

"Over the past three years we've been collaborating with Brooke Singer on a sector of her project, the Carbon Sponge, here on the farm and alongside other farmers in the Hudson Valley. Throughout this experience we've learned so much about soil health, the possibilities of carbon sequestration, and the power of community within small scale farming." - White Weather Farm

Carbon Sponge is an interdisciplinary team including farmers, scientists, artists and educators led by White Feather Farm’s Director of Innovation, Brooke Singer. The goal of this project work is to better understand soil carbon sequestration as a means to address climate change, improve soil and human health and develop resiliency through collaboration.
